Glucosamines, as well as Chondroitins, are natural components of Shark Cartilage

There are many other sources, such as shrimp, mussels and squid.  They are well-known members of the mucopolysaccharide or glycosaminoglycan (gags) family of complex carbohydrates,   which have an immune-regulatory and anti-inflammatory effect.

Glucosamine is an amino sugar that our bodies create from glucose.  It is a building block for molecules that make up tendons, ligaments, bones, skin and synovial fluid, our joints' 'shock absorbers'.  Glucosamine appears to be nature's best remedy for osteoarthritis.

In the body, the main action of glucosamine on joints is to stimulate the manufacture of   cartilage components.  In other words, glucosamine is responsible for stimulating
the maufacture of substances necessary to joint repair.

Sharks have roamed the seas since pre-historic times, surviving more successfully than almost any other species.

Only recently have we begun to unravel the mysteries within the sharks' bodies.  They have a highly effective and unusual immune system, which helps them to heal their wounds quickly, and keeps them largely free of infection.   A large amount of antibodies circulate through their blood streams, which protect them from bacteria and viruses, as well as chemicals and other carcinogens.  There is evidence that this protection
is transferable to humans and other animals.¹

Shaark Cartilage
CAUTION:  Shark Cartilage should not be given to an animal which is pregnant or nursing, still growing, has kidney disease, or is having surgery,  due to the need for blood vessel formation at that time.    A veterinarian should be consulted.

Shark Cartilage has special proteins that create an anti-angiogenesis effect, that is, it inhibits blood vessel formation in the body.5  It has been shown to reduce the size of malignant or benign tumors and also to improve long term arthritic conditions by preventing further degeneration and calcification.6   These active proteins, long strands called 'macro-proteins', have cellular regenerative properties, which help to restore joints, bones, muscles, cartilage, nervous systems and organs.

Growing old gracefully can be difficult for us, but even more so for our pets.  Their slower pace and increasingly limited activities are usually related to how well their joints are functioning.  It becomes more and more difficult for their bodies to regenerate key elements needed for healthy joints.
Shark cartilage has been shown to alleviate pain, stiffness and other symptoms associated with joint conditions, thus  enabling animals to enjoy a greater range of mobility and activity, and happier disposition.

Shark cartilage may also reduce tumors, improve skin and coat conditions, aid wound healing and improve general health by strengthening the immune system.  Pet owners who have been trying shark cartilage on their pets are seeing a positive change in the pet's health and mood in a very short  period of time.

"This natural substance improves conditions by addressing the underlying causes, and supporting the body's natural ability to heal itself.  There are no significant side effects, it is non-toxic, and best of all, it does the job!” says Dr. Ben Dow, a Vermont veterinarian.

Shark cartilage is a wonderful "natural alternative" to treatment with pain killers, which relieve symptoms but have dangerous side effects.  Conventional treatment with drugs and surgery is traumatic, and the cost is often prohibitive.
